Introduction to OU Quantitative Psychology

Abstract

The quantitative psychology faculty at the University of Oklahoma (OU) will be (re)introducing our program focusing on where OU Quantitative Psychology has been, where we are now, and where we are going. Our presentation begins with a brief history of OU Quantitative Psychology, followed by lightning talks from each of our current faculty highlighting their backgrounds and areas of research. We will conclude with what we envision for the future of our program.

Background

The University of Oklahoma’s quantitative program emerged from a departmental commitment to psychology as an experimental and methodological science, with Quantitative psychology is a distinct area of specialization. The program has traditionally emphasized the development and application of quantitative methods for psychological research, including experimental design, multivariate statistics, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, measurement theory, and longitudinal methods.
